I can’t believe it’s 2025 soon, eh? Well, I think it’s a good time to look back and think about what I want to improve for the future. Also, remember it’s not just a 2025 resolution that most people simply give up on, but then again, really, if you want to set new goals, you’d do it right now. Well, I don’t want to keep making excuses and delaying things because it’s now or never.
So here are my plans for 2025! I am going to keep it general here on my website because I want to keep specific things to myself, but I can explain the execution side of this. You need to have a really good app like Motion or GoalSumo (none of these are affiliated with this post) to keep yourself on track – you can create repeating tasks and goals, as well as set deadlines for them. Also, add everything to your calendar – you can use Motion to do that automatically.
Side Hustle
What I’d like to do is really start a new side hustle. Yes, I had a web design business before, but now that I’ve got a full-time job, it’s no longer compatible for me personally because it’s too much work. I’ve realised I don’t like doing commission-based jobs like web projects because all of these projects often get complicated, and I would really prefer to focus on a single project that I think will really benefit people.
I also need to earn extra income as well, but it’s not really my aim. It’s one of the stepping stones to my long-term goal of creating financial freedom for myself and my family. So, for now, I am going to start a side hustle business. I’ve set important goals, so I will start with researching different ideas and opportunities, as well as creating a business plan. By the end of January, I should have already chosen a specific idea to focus on, and then I will start working to get customers.
Learning and Personal Growth
I need to commit to continuous learning. This includes reading growth mindset and self-improvement books, practising mindfulness, journaling, and probably starting new hobbies so I can become a more well-rounded person – if that makes sense.
One specific focus will be improving my Spanish. It’s both personal and practical because my husband is from Mexico, and I’d like to learn Spanish for him, as he’s currently learning English for me since he now lives here with me in England. I plan to watch Spanish-language films, practise grammar, as well as do writing exercises to build confidence in Spanish.
One thing to keep in mind is that my husband and I already sign in BSL and LSM, and I am able to communicate with his friends from Mexico – although I feel a little less confident in LSM when it comes to people apart from my husband, haha!
Financial Wellness
Living in London is super expensive. Unfortunately, I have a job here, so I can’t really move away! So, I’ve got to check my expenses and build better financial habits – I need to create more room for saving and investing. Of course, the side hustle would help with that too.
Fitness
I’ve realised being healthy is super important to me, so I need to make it a point to have much better eating habits as well as stick to a fitness routine. This includes scheduling regular workouts and tracking my progress. I need to be more mindful and active, so hopefully, I will gain better health and energy for the new year.
Staying accountable
Of course, I’ve got to break down these goals into smaller steps, which I have already done on Motion, and I think you should do the same. If you want some book recommendations, I’d suggest these:
- Atomic Habits by James Clear
- The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco
- Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy
- Deep Work by Cal Newport
Feel free to give these a read and let me know what you think! Also, feel free to recommend other books in the comments that you think may help me and other people!
